Media Advisory: American Public Television Receives Cultural Sector Recovery Grant from Mass Cultural Council

Funds from the grant program will support APT’s operational costs

BOSTON, MA (February 15, 2023) – Mass Cultural Council (MCC) has named American Public Television (APT) a recipient of a 2023 MCC Cultural Sector Recovery Grant, announced today at the Massachusetts State House.

The Cultural Sector Recovery Grant for Organizations provides unrestricted support to Massachusetts cultural organizations, collectives, and businesses negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognized as a cultural organization that contributes to economic growth and opportunity in Massachusetts, APT plans to use the grant award to support operational costs that cover staffing, occupancy, program expenses, and other needs.

"We'd like to thank Mass Cultural Council for this grant award,” said Cynthia Fenneman, APT President and CEO. “We value the important work they do to support and advance the power of culture across the Commonwealth."

As an independent state arts agency, MCC works to foster a rich cultural life for all residing in Massachusetts, promoting the power of the arts, humanities and sciences in vitalizing our communities and economy. APT is one of more than 1,200 cultural organizations across the state named as a grant recipient.
